National Philanthropic Trust (NPT) turned to Suka for help in reimagining a long-existing web-based timeline into a fully immersive, interactive and responsive experience. With a newly modern approach, A History of Modern Philanthropy seeks to inspire the curiosity and interests of the younger generations who want to learn about philanthropy, while also speaking to donors and financial advisors about the historical and global scale of philanthropy.

Suka designed a timeline experience that allows users to explore and engage through various entry points based on their interests. To articulate the global story, each point on the timeline aligns with a location on a map so that as users explore they are able to visually see the growth of philanthropy around the world. Bolstered by client-curated historical content and media assets dating from the 1500s to the present, A History of Modern Philanthropy delivers a dynamic educational resource to the client’s audience and the general public.

This interactive experience is relevant to the future of UX because it relates to the current trend in learning and self-teaching via immersive, digital experiences on the internet. The History of Giving interactive timeline provides a vehicle for historical teaching that everyone of all ages can use as a tool to learn about modern philanthropy around globe.
