WellPoint, one of America’s largest health insurers with such brands as Anthem and Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, has evolved. No longer is WellPoint involved with a person only in a health crisis or when they are ill. Instead, WellPoint partners with consumers in helping them reach their health goals.



WellPoint, one of America’s largest health insurers with such brands as Anthem and Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, has evolved. No longer is WellPoint involved with a person only in a health crisis or when they are ill. Instead, WellPoint partners with consumers in helping them reach their health goals. This involves inspiring and enabling wellness that goes beyond payment administration and coverage. And it involves mobilizing families, social groups and communities in being well together. It is this notion that gave birth to WellPoint’s Health. Join In. brand platform. WellPoint wanted to harness the power of the connections between people to mobilize people around their own wellness online. And of course, they wanted to acquire new, more valuable customers. The idea was simple: we created a new kind of health platform that enables people to engage with, understand and even measure their own wellness. And we would do it in a way that involved friends to make the process more authentic, trustworthy, valuable and fun. And thus WellPower was born.
