Giftster recommends gift ideas for kids by analyzing personality traits and individual budget restraints. Details

Giftster takes all the guesswork out of the gift-finding process, taking a child’s personality traits and your budget restraints.

There’s a birthday coming up: it could be your son, your daughter, your niece, your nephew, your little brother, your little sister, your cousin – any child in your life. You want to get something good, something that he or she will cherish and remember you for. After all, a birthday comes only once a year, and something like a fifth or a sixth birthday, that comes only once ever. This is an opportunity to make your mark. As an adult, however, you are somewhat out of the loop. The things that were cool when you were a kid, are not cool anymore – odds are, they are not even on the toy store shelves anymore. What do you do?

Giftster takes all the guesswork out of the gift-finding process, taking a child’s personality traits and your budget restraints, comparing them against pre-selected data, and telling you exactly which gift to get. Don’t ever get caught being the uncle who brought a checkerboard or the big brother who thought his little sister would appreciate a new baseball bat: use Giftster, and know that your gift rocks!

Why this project is worthy of a UX Award:

Giftster attacks a real problem with cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology by using exhaustive analysis to figure out what the ideal gift is for each kid based on his or her traits and preferences. It gives people a tool that they can use multiple times every year.
