The Life Ticker is a mobile and desktop application created to help people think about priorities. It allows users to log in with their Facebook account, and scrapes images using an algorithm designed to provide users with a diverse spread of interesting photos. The algorithm is a combination of aggregated likes, comments and tags, and takes into account the length of time a user has been on Facebook, the number of photos in an album, and total number of albums, among other factors. The result is the creation of a Life Ticker; an opportunity for users to take time and respond to their own pictures and memories by thinking about what matters most to them. Users opting not to login with Facebook may create a Life Ticker with over 300 images, all carefully curated to make the user feel like they are a part of the image. In just four weeks, over 2,000 individual users have taken time to create Life Tickers and 25% have shared to their Facebook and Twitter feeds.
